The market-leading Angolan operator has seen a swift adoption of its new ring back tone service, with a service penetration rate of 8%. Unitel S.A. had been offering the service, provided by OnMobile, to its subscribers for just 90 days.

The service allows users to set a song to replace the standard tone that is usually heard by callers while they wait for their call to be answered. Offering easy options for searching, content discovery and single downloads, the service is an opportunity for subscribers to personalise their mobile usage.

Miguel Martins, CEO and Board Member of Unitel, said “After achieving such penetration in the Angolan market, it became evident that the market is sophisticated enough to consume the innovative services that Unitel is capable to deliver.”

Arvind Rao, CEO, Chairman & Co-founder, OnMobile said, “The initial numbers and success achieved bear testimony to the immense potential of this venture.”
