Myriad Group has announced significant uptake of its MSNGR chat service across Latin America during Q4 2013.
The amount of subscribers for the service more than doubled in the final quarter from 16 million to 38 million.
The 138% increase means that the MSNGR service’s growth rate far exceeds other OTT chat services, establishing it as the largest chat service in Latin America.
Traffic generated by users also increased significantly over the period. Repeat usage of the service showed a marked increase in Q4 2013, following the successful release of version 7 of the Myriad MSNGR chat application in Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Brazil, and Argentina.
Myriad’s proposition uniquely brings instant messaging to the entire Latin American mobile user base - including the 80% of users who do not own a smartphone - and delivers huge value to subscribers.
Stephen Dunford, CEO, of Myriad Group AG, commented: “There is massive demand in the market for our MSNGR chat service and we are the largest chat service in Latin America. I look forward to continuing the growth we established in 2013 as we move forward in 2014”.
