Raxio Data Centres announced on Monday it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Digital Transition to form a strategic partnership to accelerate digital transformation of public services and strengthen the country’s data sovereignty plan.
Under the MoU terms, the government will leverage Raxio Côte d’Ivoire (CIV1), Raxio’s new Tier III-certified colocation facility in Abidjan that was inaugurated in September 2024.
Raxio said in a LinkedIn post that CIV1 will provide 24/7 access, advanced monitoring and supervision, and a redundant, scalable power infrastructure.
Raxio also said CIV1 will provide seamless carrier-neutral connectivity to national and international networks.
“This partnership is a key milestone in operationalizing Côte d’Ivoire’s national data sovereignty strategy, reinforcing the digital transformation of public services,” Raxio said in the post.
At launch, CIV1 was billed as the first Tier III certified carrier-neutral and cloud-neutral facility in Côte d’Ivoire, with a designed capacity of 800 racks at full capacity and an IT load capacity of 3MW.
