Colt expands network in Turkey with a second Istanbul PoP

Colt expands network in Turkey with a second Istanbul PoP

Global digital infrastructure company Colt Technology Services said on Monday it has added a new point of presence (PoP) in Istanbul, Turkey, to meet growing demand for infrastructure capacity to support AI workloads and enterprise digital transformation plans.

Colt’s infrastructure now has a PoP in two established data centres in the city – one on Istanbul’s Asian side and the other on its European side. Colt said the addition of a second PoP, combined with an upgrade of Colt’s network capabilities in the city, significantly enhances its resilience and reach.

Colt said the expansion enables local and international customers to access a broader portfolio of next-gen, scalable networking solutions, designed to support the growing demands of cloud adoption, data-intensive workloads and AI-driven applications that require high bandwidth and secure, flexible connectivity.

Joe Scattareggia, Colt’s EVP for infrastructure and connectivity sales, said that demand for high-capacity, low-latency infrastructure in Turkey and the surrounding region is rising fast, driven by AI workloads, cloud adoption and digital transformation, as well its strategic geographical location that provides a natural interconnection point between Europe, Asia, the Middle East and parts of Africa.

“Deepening our local presence in Istanbul means we can serve enterprise customers in‑country, meet data-residency, performance and resilience requirements, and support hyperscalers and neoscalers expanding into the region,” he said in a statement.
