MTN Uganda and PostBank Uganda have reportedly completed a six-month proof of concept (POC) of the operator’s secure access service edge (SASE) business solution to power the bank’s digital transformation.
According to TechAfrica News, PostBank said the SASE solution has enhanced its operational efficiency, network reliability, and customer experience by optimising connectivity, cost efficiency, and service delivery.
SASE integrates SD-WAN networking and security into a unified, cloud-delivered solution, which Nicholas Mpanga, MTN Uganda’s senior consultant for managed network solutions, says can provides a scalable, resilient, and cost-effective approach to network security for financial institutions, where data security, regulatory compliance, and seamless customer experiences are critical.
“SD-WAN, a component of SASE, supports our strategic push for paperless banking, enhanced security, and superior customer experience,” said PostBank CTO Janey Rachel Nakato. “This is a big step forward for us.”
Ibrahim Senyonga, GM for enterprise business at MTN Uganda, added that the PoC also highlights MTN Uganda’s shift from a traditional telco to a tech company delivering advanced ICT solutions, the report said.
“Our partnership with PostBank and Huawei on SD-WAN and now SASE, is transformational,” he said. “We tested the solution extensively, and we are proud of what we’ve achieved together.”
