Du Pay, the digital financial services arm of UAE-based telco du, says it is collaborating with Nepalese digital remittance firm Esewa Money Transfer to promote cross-border payments to Nepalese expats in the UAE.
Du Pay customers are already able to send funds to eSewa wallets in Nepal via du Pay’s existing remittance network. Under a new agreement announced Thursday, du Pay and Esewa will conduct joint marketing campaigns with exclusive promotional incentives for customers sending money from du Pay to eSewa wallets.
For example, Nepalese expats sending money back home from du Pay get a chance to win a gold coin every day, along with free 2GB on every international transfer. Nepalese expats can get additional rewards on money transfers to eSewa wallets, encouraging digital remittances within the Nepalese community.
Du Pay customers can register on the du Pay App using their mobile number and Emirates ID to cash in on the promotions.
There are currently over 450,000 Nepalese expats living in the UAE. The remittance service enables them to send money to Nepal quickly, enabling beneficiaries in Nepal to use eSewa to pay utility bills, recharge mobiles, shop online, buy movie tickets, or transfer funds to their bank accounts from their phone.
Esewa Money Transfer says it had 10 million users at the end of 2025.
