Mobile money launch in Morocco

Moroccan operator inwi has recently launched a new mobile money service called ‘inwi money’. The service works on mobiquity Money, a platform offered by mobile solutions provider Comviva.

Customers can access the service using any type of mobile phone through the inwi money mobile application or USSD menu. The service is available in French and Arabic. It facilitates multiple levels of registration, ranging from self-registration to agent-supported registration.

inwi money customers can send money to other inwi money customers instantly anytime, anywhere, says Comviva. They can also request money from other inwi money customers. Customers can recharge their own or other people’s mobile subscription using the app.

The operator will also allow merchants to collect payments using inwi money. To pay a merchant customers need to enter the merchant’s mobile number or scan a QR Code.

One of the world’s largest mobile money platforms, mobiquity Money boasts over 60 deployments in more than 45 countries. The service, says Comviva, offers consumers a quick, convenient and secure way to perform multiple financial transactions such as person-to-person money transfer, airtime purchase, bill payments and merchant payments.
