STC is deploying Infinera’s ICE6 800G-capable technology on its submarine cable networks to enable new regional and international connectivity services and infrastructure development.
A major telecommunications and wholesale service provider in the Middle East, STC offers national and international services over all major international cable systems that pass through the region. This project will expand the operator’s global network using Infinera’s ICE6 800G-capable technology and GX Series Compact Modular Platform, increasing its capacity to ten times that of its original design.
The region is seeing a rapid increase in bandwidth demand, and this substantial increase in capacity will allow STC to meet this demand at greater reach, resulting in lower cost and power per bit and higher spectral efficiency.
