A new partnership between global CSP Epsilon and dark fibre infrastructure provider PT Power Telecom will open up the Jakarta metro area to international network operators.
The companies will offer fibre connectivity to Jakarta’s largest data centres, with the goal of expanding to other major facilities in the coming months.
Epsilon has two nodes live connecting Indonesia to Singapore giving its 500+ pre-connected network operators direct access to the Indonesian market. International network operators will be able to use Epsilon’s metro fibre footprint in Jakarta for local access to commercial buildings and data centres sites in Jakarta.
“The partnership with PowerTel uses the strengths of both companies to offer customers unique access to the Indonesian market. PowerTel is known for maintaining a deep fibre network in Indonesia”, says Andreas Hipp, CEO at Epsilon.
PowerTel will use the agreement to serve local enterprises and service providers with lit fibre capacity. It has access to Epsilon’s Global Network Exchange, allowing it to connect its customers to more 170 countries around the world.
Dicky Tjokrosaputro as President Directo at PowerTel said: “Demand in the local telecoms market is growing with the Indonesian economy showing more than 7% growth annually. More economic development means more demand for connectivity and with deals like this we’re ready to serve it.”
