Safoca expanding backhaul infrastructure in Malaysia with Tejas

Malaysian infrastructure provider Sacofa is implementing Packet Transport Networking (PTN) solutions from Tejas Networks in Sarawak.

Sacofa provides licensed network operators in Malaysia with up to 400Gbps of capacity, allowing them to provider 3G and 4G coverage. It currently has over 3000km of terrestrial fibre deployed in Sarawak.

The solutions from Tejas Networks will allow Sacofa to expand its mobile backhaul infrastructure to over 550 wireless towers, enabling it to provide Carrier Ethernet and circuit-emulated E1 SAToP (Structure Agnostic TDM over Packet) services.

Sanjay Nayak, CEO of Tejas Networks, said: “Our Packet Transport Solutions enable Sacofa to build a future-ready infrastructure that is capable of serving the needs of multiple 2G, 3G and 4G mobile service providers and simultaneously meet their demanding SLAs.”
