Sierratel launches new landline network amid Ebola outbreak

Sierratel has launched new advanced landline services in Sierra Leone. The launch was overseen by consultancy and management firm MDIC.

The new landline network offers High-speed internet and telephone services to both businesses and private customers in the country.

Adel Taher, CEO of SierraTel and and MDIC veteran, said: “The launch marks a significant milestone for Sierratel and Sierra Leone. The landline network investment is in excess of $40 million and now provides Sierra Leone with an advanced telecommunications infrastructure comparable to what exists in Ghana.”

He added: “The decision to launch this huge investment at such a critical time in Sierra Leone, with the country struggling to control the spread of the Ebola virus, is a representation of SierraTel’s confidence in the future of the country. The partnership between MDIC and SierraTel was mainly driven by a determination to stand side by side with the Government and people of Sierra Leone.”
