Slovanet selects Intracom Telecom for Point-to-Multipoint network modernisation

Intracom Telecom has signed an agreement with Slovanet, a leading fixed line operator in Slovakia, to supply its latest Point-to-Multipoint wireless system.

Slovanet’s decision to select WiBAS-OSDR for its rapid infrastructure replacement program came following a field trial and an international tender. The revamped network is taking advantage of the system's unrivalled capabilities, such as the highest capacity in the industry and the competitive cost per Mbit.

Furthermore, the 1024QAM modulation of WiBAS-OSDR system optimises the utilisation of radio resources. The system’s advanced networking features enable offering of Carrier Class service provisioning for demanding broadband data applications.

WiBAS-OSDR will be used in Slovanet’s network modernisation program in the licensed 10.5 GHz band, including investments in new sites. The aim is to provide superior services to the operator’s existing and future customer base. Through WiBAS-OSDR, Slovanet decreases annual spending on fees for operating frequencies, reduces the expenses for site rental and enhances its network coverage.

In phase one, the upgraded network is available in the cities of Banska Bystrica, Bratislava, Kosice, Lucenec, Presov, Roznava, Senica, Skalica, Trebisov, Trencin, Zvolen and Zilina. The network is dedicated to broadband internet and advanced telephony services for business customers.
