PT Telkom extends OSS contract with Clarity

Clarity will extending Operational Support Systems (OSS) platform to handle all voice, data and IP services offered on PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia's (PT Telkom) CDMA network. The move marks the fourth phase of PT Telkom's Infusion programme, which will ultimately provide improved national support to all PT Telkom customers through streamlined inventory management, service assurance and fulfilment across a single strategic OSS suite. Past phases have seen the implementation of Clarity's Unified OSS to cover 17 elements of the eTOM footprint and it has been successfully deployed to support PT Telkom's core transmission network, IP/MPLS network, Metro Ethernet and Next Generation Network (NGN) services.

PT Telkom currently boasts ten million subscribers on its CDMA network and an annual growth of around 30%. PT Telkom's CDMA network is based on technology provided by Huawei, ZTE, Motorola, Samsung, Cisco systems and Juniper.
"As Indonesia's largest telecommunications company, it is essential for us to provide an unparalleled level of customer service and improve the quality of that service while reducing overall operating costs", said PT Telkom CIO Indra Utoyo. "Clarity's Unified OSS platform allows us to avoid the costs and technical difficulties of integrating multiple applications in the OSS domain. Instead, we have a single vendor for inventory, fault, performance and SLA management, as well as Workforce Management (WFM) and provisioning. This holistic view of our network allows us to effectively streamline our services and optimise our resources. Clarity's Unified OSS closely monitors how network events impact the customer experience, allowing us to focus on quality of service and manage a SLA driven business model."

* Clarity is the first Next Generation OSS to be deployed end-to-end, across all lines of business, by leading Tier 1 service providers. Clarity's installed base includes such operators as Telekom Malaysia, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) and Sri Lanka Telecom, as well as India 's giant Reliance Communications.
