A subsidiary of China Mobile is deploying new planning tools throughout its network. Jiangxi Mobile Communications, a major Chinese operator wholly owned by the market leader, has commissioned Aircom International to provide its ASSET network planning tools.

The solution will be used to address planning issues in Jiangxi Mobile’s network to increase capacity and throughput, while providing an improved QoS to the operator’s 17 million customers in the region.

In addition, it will enable Jiangxi Mobile to design, model, and deliver planning services across network coverage areas, lowering overall capital spend, churn, and equipment investment costs. This will grant the operator the ability to bring new products and services to market faster.

“We are delighted to be working with Jiangxi Mobile to plan and optimise its network” said Alwyn Welch, CEO, Aircom. “Our regional knowledge, consultancy expertise and network planning capabilities will be instrumental in delivering a network QoS that Jiangxi Mobile can be proud of.”

Aircom’s ASSET tool is already used by many other large MNOs across South East Asia.  The firm will provide a training course to Jiangxi Mobile’s team of network operatives, ensuring that they are able to use the full range of ASSET’s optimisation and planning features.
