Safaricom Kenya has renewed its Parts Management Service (SPMS) agreement with GSM Systems East Africa.
The service provided by GSM Systems to Safaricom includes dimensioning, OEM Repair SLA management, in-country testing and repair as well as intelligent handling of Safaricom’s spares assets throughout Kenya. GSM Systems have been providing this service to Safaricom since January 2012 on a continuous basis.
In addition to ensuring Safaricom’s stringent KPIs are maintained, GSM Systems bring measurable and substantial opex savings by ensuring that Safaricom’s field engineers have access to all the required spare parts within three hours anywhere in the country from 38 locations maximising network availability and ensuring customer satisfaction and hence revenue.
This renewal is the third consecutive multi-year term, making the service GSM Systems provide to Safaricom GSMS’ longest such engagement in Africa.
