ETC?s decision follows previous projects with Telrad over the last two decades. Telrad has, for example, been the vendor for the majority of ETC's fixed line infrastructure, and this agreement further strengthens the relationship between the two companies.
Under the new contract, Telrad continues to provide maintenance and technical support for DMS digital switches, unirem equipment, network management and mediation systems, as well as other aspects of the digital switching network. Furthermore, Telrad provides professional training for ETC support and operations staff.
Amir Kandell, President of Telrad?s Integrated Network Solutions (INS) Division, analyses Telrad's emphasis on new markets: "Unlike large integrators, we see emerging markets as our core focus; not as a niche market."
* Telrad Networks has been developing carrier-grade communications equipment for more than half a century, providing development capabilities that focus on integration of core technologies into standardised, Tier-1 carrier-class products. Telrad's INS Division provides professional support services and transition from traditional to next generation networks for operators in emerging markets. Telrad was founded in 1951.
