FGC and Arabsat team up for VSAT services in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian VSAT integrator and ISP First Gulf Company (FGC) said on Monday it has signed an agreement with Arabsat to collaborate on delivering exclusive VSAT and satellite data services across Saudi Arabia.

The agreement will see the two companies leveraging Arabsat’s geostationary Ku-band satellite infrastructure and FGC’s operational capabilities to provide high-capacity, fully managed data and IP-based services for telcos, mobile operators and ISPs.

FGC and Arabsat said the service will offer 140-Mbps connectivity at launch and is expected to grow by more than 70% throughout the terms of the contract. The satellite operator also said the service is designed to scale with market demand and evolving customer needs, to include support for emerging technologies such as IoT, cloud computing and AI-driven applications.

Joe Chbat, executive VP of FGC’s systems division, said the service will enable organizations to maintain and monitor business operations even in the most remote areas, helping to reduce operational risks, enhance security, and increase profitability, particularly for the oil & gas and mining sectors.

“This partnership with Arabsat marks a strategic expansion – extending our capabilities to help increase digital connectivity across the kingdom,” he said in a joint statement.
