A private African network is to benefit from the supply of 55 VSATs manufactured by PolarSat. They are part of a contract won by Marpless Communication Technologies in which the network will feature IP-based voice and data communication exploiting PolarSat's advanced VSAT Technology. 

More specifically, the VSATs will be PolarSat's FlexiDAMA product, claimed to offer state-of-the-art IP functionality including advanced Bandwidth on Demand (BoD), DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access) capabilities and Turbo Product Codes. PolarSat itself is optimistic about the near future for satellites in Africa . Executive VP Sales & Marketing Marc Lupien believes that over the next few years, Africa 's need for satellite infrastructure will continue to expand rapidly.
