Omani cloud services company gets government accreditation

Omani company data2cloud has announced that it has achieved official accreditation to provide cloud services to the Omani government.

The accreditation, from the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, enables data2cloud to deliver cloud services to the government’s administrative units.

This is a big boost for the company, a subsidiary of the major regional player Ooredoo, an international telecommunications company headquartered in Doha, Qatar. Data2cloud offers a variety of cloud-based ICT solutions that are locally hosted at its data centres in Oman.

Using Ooredoo’s network and advanced cloud services to support the country in its digital transformation, data2cloud has already been helping government institutions, large organisations and small and medium enterprises all over the country to be digital.

Data2cloud was founded in 2015 with head offices in Oman and serving regional and global customers. Data2cloud is a team of managed ICT services experts providing managed hosting solutions from its data centre hosted in Samail, a province in the north-east of the country. Its stated aim is to enable governments and large enterprises to deliver smarter solutions, increase their profitability and protect their infrastructure against increasing malicious attacks.

With this in mind, the company offers what it calls cutting-edge cloud computing services across Oman. It uses Ooredoo’s network and infrastructure to give businesses the chance to further elevate their cloud operations with cost-effective solutions and flexible consumption-based payment plans, backed by service level agreements.

Other services offered by data2cloud include bridge video conferencing, cloud drive, infrastructure, backup, monitoring, security, IoT, containers, email collaboration, and backup and disaster recovery service.
