Cloud services-related deals announced for Thailand and MEA

Cloud-related deals have been in the news recently – notably in the form of two major announcements affecting Thailand and the MEA region.

Nipa Cloud, a leading cloud services provider in Thailand, has selected secure, AI-driven networks specialist Juniper Networks to strengthen its existing network infrastructure in support of growth momentum, and in anticipation of further growing demand for endpoint flexibility.

Nipa is Thailand’s first full-service OpenStack public cloud services provider powered by Tungsten Fabric. Tungsten Fabric says it seeks to become a ubiquitous global network fabric, agnostic to underlay infrastructure and able to extend across all cloud infrastructure.

Nipa has deployed EVPN-VXLAN solutions from Juniper Networks, including the QFX5120 Series Switches and MX10003/MX204 Series Universal Routing Platforms, to upgrade its campus and data centre networks and better differentiate its offerings.

These upgrades allow Nipa to now deploy a common set of policies and services across campuses with support for Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs. In addition, Juniper says that Nipa is now able to better deliver enhanced throughput, scalability, capacity, performance and security

Meanwhile G42 Cloud, a subsidiary of G42, a leading UAE-based AI and cloud computing provider, has announced plans for a strategic collaboration with IBM, a leading global hybrid cloud and AI and business services provider, aimed at accelerating digital transformation for clients in the Middle East and Africa.

IBM and G42 Cloud say they will join forces to explore ways of supporting government and enterprises in accelerating their digital transformation journeys with IBM’s portfolio of solutions and services, including AI and cloud-native offerings, which can be delivered via the highly scalable and AI-optimized G42 Cloud platform.

Many regional government agencies, educational institutions and enterprises are already leveraging G42 Cloud to address a diverse set of use cases, from mission-critical projects in health and citizen welfare, to cutting-edge offerings in the financial and energy industries.
