Saudi Arabia’s STC Group announced it has signed a collaboration deal with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to accelerate deployment of cloud-based services and AI infrastructure in the country.
Under the partnership announced on Monday, STC and AWS will combine infrastructure resources – including generative AI/ML services such as Amazon Bedrock – to scale cloud-based workloads and AI-powered innovation across the Middle East.
According to PwC, AI will contribute US$130 billion to Saudi Arabia’s economy by 2030, while IDC forecasts the value of public cloud services to reach just under US$4 billion in 2027, growing by 23% annually over the next two years.
STC said it will leverage the partnership to target sectors such as healthcare, finance, sports, education, energy, industrial, logistics and government sectors in Saudi Arabia and neighbouring Gulf countries, including Bahrain and Kuwait.
The partnership deal also covers local content development, sustainability initiatives, and knowledge sharing to empower local talent and enhance cloud adoption.
As part of the deal, AWS classified STC as a System Integrator Premier partner, which is the highest AWS Partner Tier.
“Through this strategic collaboration, the group strategy and its subsidiaries to target critical sectors in the kingdom, we will create cutting-edge solutions, develop local talent, and pave the way for a digitally advanced future in Saudi Arabia,” said STC Group chief business officer Riyadh Muawad in a statement.
