Beijing 2022’s Winter Olympic Games experience was improved with the use of Prevail’s cutting-edge digitalized ticketing. Spectators were able to access the stadiums in 1.5 seconds, with the digital ticketing system using Prevail’s PDA to verify ticket QR codes.
Five times more efficient in entrance checking and data transmission than previous Games, this was the first digital ticketing system in Olympic history. With the continuous development of AIDC, the data capture terminal PDA has been widely applied for the real-time ID scanning and data checking, greatly contributing to the digitalization of the ticketing system of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
Data security is also guaranteed by the PDA’s features including faster information processing, transmission and smarter display. Widespread use of PDA units enabled fast and efficient verification of IDs, tickets and RFID tags.
Prior to the Closing Ceremony, Timo Rume, Minister of Television Broadcasting and Market Development of the International Olympic Committee, who was in charge of the Olympic ticketing affairs, said in a media interview: "The Beijing ticketing system is the first digital ticketing system in the history of the Olympic Games. Technology has helped this Olympics to achieve an efficient, agile and intelligent operation management, which is a great contribution that China has made to digitalize the Olympic Games.”
