U Mobile launches Device Care subscription for flexible phone swaps

Malaysian operator U Mobile launched Device Care, a subscription service that allows postpaid and business customers to swap their smartphones for a different model, brand, or colour from MYR4 ($1) per month.

The service, introduced in partnership with bolttech Device Protection Malaysia, is available to U Postpaid and U Biz subscribers who purchase a device bundle through U PayLater or U SaveMore. Customers can request up to two swaps per year, regardless of device condition, with fulfilment as fast as six business hours in the Klang Valley. All replacement devices carry a 12-month warranty, and a bolttech service fee applies for each request.

Device Care requests can be submitted via a 24/7 online portal, with door-to-door pick-up and delivery included. U Mobile is offering an introductory promotion of three months free subscription for customers who sign up within 30 days of purchasing a device bundle.

The operator said the launch reflects its strategy to enhance customer experience by making device protection and upgrade services more accessible and convenient.
