GTA TeleGuam brings iPhone to Guam

Joining 80 other countries already linked to iPhone, Guam now enjoys basic iPhone 3G as well as the enhanced iPhone 3GS, which is claimed to run at twice the download speed as normal iPhone 3G. A special tariff is in place for new customers...

GTA TeleGuam has brought iPhone to Guam, along with a range of tariff plans for both iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. The latter is available at a cost of US$99.95 for new and qualifying customers. iPhone 3GS, however, is being promoted by GTA TeleGuam as “the fastest, most powerful iPhone yet, packed with incredible new features including improved speed and performance - up to twice as fast as iPhone 3G.” 

The App Store associated with iPhone provides access to more than 100,000 applications from games to social networking to financial planning and health management, generating more than 2 billion downloads to date. In the case of Guam, Andrew Gayle, Executive Vice-President of Wireless and Television for GTA TeleGuam, states, “We are thrilled to be the first service provider to bring iPhone to Guam....With our range of plans and pricing, we make it easy and affordable for people to enjoy iPhone with GTA TeleGuam.”

GTA TeleGuam’s 3G wireless network reaches about 80% of the entire island, with coverage focused in the northern and central areas. GTA TeleGuam expects to blanket the remaining areas in the south with 3G wireless in early 2010 (3G wireless technology allows faster data transmission speeds for sending and receiving emails, browsing the Internet, streaming music, downloading videos, sending photos, text messages and more).

GTA TeleGuam is offering iPhone with any existing MPULSE wireless subscription plan and a two-year service commitment, while new and existing customers must subscribe to the company’s data communications plan with any iPhone purchase.
