Montenegro newcomer chooses Comverse converged billing

MTEL, Montenegro's latest mobile operator, has selected Comverse's Converged Billing Suite as well as several value-added services in order to deploy a complete suite which includes Voicemail, SMS, MMS and Call Completion solutions. The suite of services is powered by Comverse's InSight Open Services Environment.

The Comverse Converged Billing Suite is claimed to offer the ability to handle any service, any network and any payment type, and to allow businesses to grow revenues and build loyalty by providing their customers with choice, convenience and control. By enabling real-time customer management, Converged Billing allows service providers and e-businesses worldwide to increase market agility and improve operational efficiency. This suite offers a host of new capabilities built upon a foundation of industry-leading, production-proven technology.

Zlatko Trhuli, MTEL CEO, is emphatic in his support for the decision to deploy Comverse: "Our vision to become one of the most dynamic mobile operators in Montenegro is already being fulfilled with our recent service launch...it was critical for the Comverse solution to be up and running in time for this current tourist season."

* MTEL is a new telecoms operator in Montenegro. It is an affiliate of the Telekom Serbia Group, which in turn has more than 5 million mobile and 3 million fixed subscribers in three countries with more than US$1 billion annual turnover in 2006. MTEL started commercial operations in July this year, just 75 days after acquiring licences for GSM, UMTS and WiMAX, the latter scheduled for launch this month. MTEL now has a 12.8 % market share in Montenegro with around 130.000 subscribers.
