Redknee, a provider of mission-critical convergent billing and charging software and solutions for communications service providers, is now congratulating Digicel on launching mobile services across three new markets - Fiji, Vanuatu and Tonga. As part of its rollout plan and launch, Digicel has selected Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing Solution (TCBS) across these three South Pacific islands. This in turn extends the successful launch of Digicel's convergent billing solution on Samoa in 2006 and Papua New Guinea in 2007.
The deployment of Redknee's solution enables Digicel to rate and charge for a wide range of pre-paid and post-paid services across voice, SMS and data. The TCBS provides Digicel with a platform not only for the rating and charging of services but with the ability to quickly tailor rate-calling plans, and launch new loyalty-based promotions and services.
Operating in Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Samoa, Digicel required a flexible convergent billing solution enabling both centrally controlled and island specific configurations. Redknee's "flexible modular software architecture enabled Digicel to meet its aggressive launch schedule while ensuring maximum cost effectiveness."
Eugene O'Shaughnessy, Group CTO of South Pacific Digicel, added:
"Redknee's Turnkey Converged Billing gave us the flexibility we needed to mix and match for the disparate geographies in which we operate. The successful rollout of these solutions means that our customers have been enjoying the benefits of services such as real-time charging and enhanced messaging since the day of deployment."
Canadian-based Redknee also supports Digicel in the Caribbean and Latin American region, with its recently deployed TCBS to enable converged billing and data charging for its customers in Honduras, El Salvador and Panama.
