Kaspersky Lab will unveil the beta version of its new solution Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 at Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona. Key presenters will be Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab and Sergey Nevstruev, Director of Mobile Solutions Business at Kaspersky Lab. Mobile Security 8.0 is intended to protect users of smart phones and communicators from cybercrime threats such as malware, network attacks and SMS spam, while also safeguarding data on PDAs if they are lost or stolen. Dedicated solutions for mobile service providers and handset vendors will also be on show at the Kaspersky Lab booth, and visitors will be able to scan their mobile devices for malware.

"Find lost smart phones easily" is the claim of Kaspersky Lab: Mobile Security 8.0 provides smart phone users with "unprecedented protection. For instance, the SMS Find module can be used to determine the exact location of a lost smart phone (for devices equipped with GPS)." After sending an SMS with a password to the lost device, the user receives a link to Google Maps which will show the precise co-ordinates of the device. SMS Find can also be used by parents to check on the whereabouts of their children. Additionally, the Anti-theft module in Kaspersky Mobile Security 8.0 enables the owner to remotely block access to a lost or stolen smart phone or completely wipe its memory simply by sending a codeword via SMS to his/her number.
