Saudi Telecom chooses Convergys for billing & customer care

The Arab world's largest communications network is set to overhaul its customer services. Convergys has signed a contract with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), which provides mobile, landline, data, and Internet services.

The contract involves licensing, support, and maintenance contract for a Convergys billing and customer care solution is one of the largest of its kind in this region of the world.

STC has selected the Convergys Infinys rating and billing solution to support its current 12 million pre- and post-paid mobile subscribers, a figure set to expand in the light of STC's delivery of new advanced services. Convergys will also provide on-site professional and consulting services staff for project planning, consulting, and training, with implementation to begin in the next few weeks.

On completion of its migration to Infinys, STC hopes to realise a lower total cost of ownership and operate a convergent rating and billing solution which can support voice, data, and video offerings across wireless, wireline, and cable/broadband services. The Convergys solution is a core component of STC's strategy to create a truly customer-centric services company, which can deliver value to customers and shareholders alike.

* As one of the world's top 15 most profitable telecom operators, STC covers more than 95% of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia . It was privatised six years ago and recently received its 3G licence.
