India’s third largest mobile operator has signed a multi-year agreement for data clearing, financial clearing and fraud-prevention. Idea Cellular will use solutions from Syniverse to augment the experience of its 122 million customers.

Under the new agreement, Idea benefits from Syniverse’s experience of enabling roaming for mobile service providers worldwide. Data will be accurately processed in accordance with GSMA guidelines, while financial clearing services will greatly simplify financial processes to allow a stronger focus on end users. In addition, a real-time data exchange platform helps to combat roaming fraud.

The companies have worked together since 2010, when Syniverse has selected by the Indian Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to enable mobile number portability across the country.
