Birdstep and Syniverse delivering Wi-Fi Connection Management to Samsung in Indonesia

Birdstep Technology and Syniverse are providing Samsung with an end-to-end solution for an enhanced & customised Wi-Fi connection management solution, including back-end billing integration.

The first market that the solution will launch in will be Indonesia, with the aim of expanding further in the Southeast Asia region.

The Wi-Fi Connection Management service simplifies consumer connectivity for Wi-Fi-only devices by enabling seamless and automatic access to more than 100,000 Hotspots in Indonesia for selected OEM devices.

“In a market where mobile service penetration is greater than 96%, but where less than 20% of the population use credit cards, this solution will facilitate easy and affordable access to Wi-Fi for consumers,” said Lonnie Schilling, CEO Birdstep Technology ASA.
