3 Link and Wave to bring 5G broadband to Vanuatu in 2024

Vanuatu operator Wave has partnered with local ISP 3 Link to launch an affordable 5G broadband offering in 2024.

The Vanuatu Daily Post reports that the service will launch across the archipelago. Since 2020, 3 Link has used Kacific’s satellite broadband tech to deliver coverage across Vanuatu, and will now leverage Wave’s network architecture to boost the performance of this connectivity via 5G and Wi-Fi routers.

3 Link Founder Millie Ogden said: “This critical digital infrastructure will drive the country’s sustainable economic growth, climate resilience, and shape a brighter future for Vanuatu.”

Wave CEO Paul Hyde added: “Our partnership with 3 Link underscores our shared belief in connectivity as a catalyst for progress. Together, we will bridge the digital divide and empower Vanuatu with accessible, high speed internet, paving the way for innovation, education, and economic growth.”
