Another distributed antenna system (DAS) contract relating to transport hubs has been won by Indian RF equipment manufacturer Frog Cellsat, this time in the largest city of the Indian state of Assam in northeastern India.
Frog Cellsat has won a deal from Amaravati Digital Networks (an affiliate of ICT company Transmedia Group) to deploy a DAS solution for the new terminal of Guwahati airport for bolstering 4G and 5G mobile coverage.
The company will deploy its OneDAS system in multiple input multiple output (MIMO) 2x2 configuration, providing 4G and 5G coverage across eight frequency bands.
Modern DAS sidesteps the problem of ensuring coverage while also serving all operators by offering a network of antennas accommodating multiple carriers that work together to provide wireless service in a specific area. Indeed OneDAS is described as a multi band, multi-technology and multi-operator system.
As we reported in October, Frog Cellsat has also won a deal from telecom network benchmarking services provider Metro Telworks Limited to deploy OneDAS at the new Navi Mumbai International Airport, due to open early next year.
Konark Trivedi, Founder & MD at Frog Cellsat explains: “As airports become more connected, our OneDAS solution ensures reliable, high-speed connectivity for passengers and staff alike.”
In fact this is Frog Cellsat’s fourth consecutive airport project win. As well as Navi Mumbai it can claim successful implementations at Noida International Airport (NIA) in Jewar and Mumbai International Airport.
