Indian telco Vodafone Idea (Vi) said on Tuesday its has expanded its 5G network in Kerala to all 14 districts in the state, covering all major towns, commercial hubs, educational clusters, tourism corridors and high-density residential areas.
Vi said it has scaled its network in Kerala in recent months since its initial launch of 5G in August 2025 in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, followed later in the year by Kozhikode and Malappuram.
The telco has been densifying its 5G coverage and capacity across the state to ensure low latency, high-speed connectivity to urban and rural locations, said George Mathew, cluster business head of Kerala at Vodafone Idea.
“In the second half of 2025, we accelerated 5G deployments across the state with advanced, energy-efficient infrastructure and AI-powered self-organizing networks (SON) to automatically optimize network performance and deliver high-speed, reliable connectivity,” he said in a statement.
In addition to Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Malappuram, Vi’s 5G service is now live in Alapuzha, Kannur, Kalamassery, Kasaragod, Kalpeta, , Kollam, Kottayam, Palakkad, Pathanamthitta, Tirur, Thrissur, Thodupzha and Wayanad.
Going forward, Vi said it will systematically continue to expand 5G coverage to other regions in Kerala.
