Malaysia’s U Mobile extends network access to new MVNO

U Mobile, Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider and wholesale operator, has announced that it has added VIBE Mobile, part of the Elite Links supply chain and distribution company, to its list of strategic mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) partners.

This latest collaboration will see U Mobile provide VIBE Mobile, a new mobile service brand in Malaysia, access to its next generation 4G and 5G network for data, domestic and international services and roaming capabilities.

This collaboration will also allow VIBE Mobile to focus on service design, branding and customer engagement, while relying on U Mobile for core mobile connectivity.

By enabling partners to enter the market using its established network capabilities, U Mobile is helping broaden consumer and business choice, while supporting businesses that are looking to develop and scale new digital services in Malaysia.

The collaboration is said to be part of U Mobile’s broader effort to build a more dynamic partner ecosystem, anchored on its next generation 5G network. Designed for both scale and flexibility, U Mobile is enabling partners to tap into what it describes as its superior and seamless connectivity to bring new mobile and digital services to market faster, with the ability to differentiate for specific customer segments.

As the MVNO space continues to evolve, U Mobile says it will also look to provide its network capabilities to support partner-led innovation.

Late last year we reported that U Mobile had signed a ten-year syndicated financing deal with four Malaysian banks worth just over US$1 billion to fund the capex for its 5G network rollout.  It officially launched Ultra5G – its standalone 5G network – in August 2025
