Wireless hotspots spreading across South Africa

South Africa will soon boast 600 more Wi-Fi hotspots following a new agreement between Wi-Fi provider Boingo and hotspot operator Skyrove. The deployment will bring the total number of Boingo hotspots in the country to more than 2,000.

Customers across the country will be able to access the expanded coverage via any compatible device, with Skyrove’s network covering various popular hotels, restaurants and coffee shops in the region.

“The addition of Skyrove to our growing Wi-Fi network will allow customers to quickly and easily connect to all major commercial hotspots throughout South Africa,” said Bjorn Thorngren, director of business development in EMEA for Boingo Wireless. “With the desire to stay connected when travelling internationally on the rise, reliable wireless access is important for heavy data users looking to escape excessive roaming charges.”
