The market-leading operator in the Czech Republic has selected the supplier for its LTE network. Following a trial covering the city of Mlada Boleslav, T-Mobile Czech Republic has chosen to use equipment from Chinese vendor Huawei for the deployment.
The operator claims that the finished network will offer LTE across the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz frequencies, providing mobile internet speeds of 150 Mbps. The Huawei infrastructure will allow for network sharing.
At the end of Q4 2012, T-Mobile Czech Republic had 5.4 million subscribers. The operator’s CTO Frank Meywerk noted: “A big task lies ahead of us – to continue the success of our 3G network, which is the best performing network in the Czech Republic.”
