A major telecom provider in Bosnia and Herzegovina is upgrading its network to provide 3G mobile broadband access across the northern and eastern parts of the country. BH Telecom has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks to provide the 3G HSPA+ radio access network and related services for the rollout. Subscribers of BH Telecom will then be set to enjoy an overall improved communications experience including greater coverage, excellent mobile broadband and multimedia services.

“Our customers are increasingly adopting advanced smartphones and tablets which require the best quality possible in terms of coverage and network performance”, said Nedžad Rešidbegović, CEO of BH Telecom. “Subscribers will soon enjoy high-speed mobile broadband services such as video downloads and internet browsing with data speeds up to 30 Mbps.”

The rollout will include 3G deployment on the 2100 MHz and 900 MHz bands for greater coverage, as well as Dual Cell HSPA+ for higher data speeds. NSN will also upgrade the multi-vendor network management system NetAct to efficiently monitor, optimise and configure BH Telecom’s networks.
