Russian telecoms provider TTK has signed a network partnership agreement with cloud infrastructure firm Akamai.
As part of the first stage of the collaboration, TTK installed a set of Akamai servers on its new node in Moscow, which will improve the responsiveness and quality of experience for its subscribers when they access content provided by Akamai’s clients. There are plans to deploy servers in the provinces.
“The quality of Internet access for end users depends not only on the capacity of the provider’s network and connection speed, but also on how physically removed the content is from the user. Our partnership with Akamai will make it possible to increase the quality of services for end users and off-load the traffic on TTK’s backbone network to the company’s long-distance nodes”, said Vitaly Kotov, TTK vice president and head of the Backbone Unit.
Sabine Sitterli, Senior Director Networks at Akamai added: “Akamai has deployed the most pervasive platform with over 140,000 servers in 90+ countries and consistently invests in our infrastructure to better serve our customers, enabling them to grow their business and embrace new market opportunities.”
