Ecuadorian operator Corporacion Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (CNT) has selected systems integrator MCO Global and Aptilo Networks to enable Wi-Fi services across the country.
“This nationwide deployment brings carrier Wi-Fi services to the Ecuador population and will be the first of its kind,” said Cesar Regalado, CEO, CNT. “It is a strategic project that positions CNT as the service provider of choice for the country.”
With Aptilo, operators can develop multiple strategies to market their Wi-Fi services to their audiences, selling attractive B2B and B2B2C services to hotels, stadiums, government agencies and private companies as well as offering Wi-Fi services directly to subscribers. Wi-Fi services also reduce churn, delivering a significant return on investment.
CNT and MCO are using the Aptilo Service Management Platform (SMP), a state-of-the-art system to deliver and manage carrier-class Wi-Fi services. Aptilo SMP enables carrier Wi-Fi in a highly scalable platform, supporting rapid growth of the Wi-Fi network. With Aptilo SMP, CNT is positioned to deploy the best carrier Wi-Fi solution in the market with a strategic migration path to incorporate Wi-Fi offloading (EAP-SIM) and Wi-Fi calling in the upcoming phases.
“It is well-known among carriers that Wi-Fi services are a key component to their future growth and increased profitability, driven by increased customer satisfaction, reduced churn and new business revenue generation. We have seen this across Latin America,” said Paul Mikkelsen, CEO, Aptilo Networks.
“Aptilo SMP is a flexible, vendor-agnostic solution that simplifies deployments,” said Guillermo Dahik General Manager of MCO Ecuador. “CNT Wi-Fi will be a game-changer for Ecuador.”
