Zain KSA now offers 5G coverage in all of Saudi Arabia’s regions after expanding its network to Al-Jouf and the Northern Borders.
With this latest expansion, Zain now delivers 5G coverage to 30 cities in the Kingdom. The operator launched commercial 5G in the market in October 2019, with its initial deployment covering more than 20 cities.
Zain KSA’s CEO Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither noted that the deployment would facilitate digital transformation across the country, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).
“We will see considerable changes in the behaviour of individuals whose capabilities will be enhanced by the accessible and convenient functionalities of digital services, like the IoT, including the private sector, which will enhance the on-going digital transformation in various sectors, such as healthcare, digital entertainment, education, e-payments and more”, he said.
He added that the availability of 5G would stimulate economic growth by promoting the development of innovative new sectors and driving youth employment.
