Indonesian operator XL Axiata has chosen Juniper Networks solution to upgrade its existing network infrastructure, a move to support the growing demand for 5G services.
XL Axiata will implement Juniper’s Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) and MX Series Universal Routing Platforms for the network modernisation project.
Indonesia is predicted to have over 233 million mobile data users by 2026, which will fuel the country’s data economy, which is forecast to contribute over US$150 million to GDP by 2025.
The government has pushed measures to improve connectivity, notably with the Digital Indonesia Roadmap which prioritises 4G infrastructure build outs in more than 10,000 sub-regions by 2022 and developing 5G-ready networks.
XL Axiata group head of network planning and Design Fadly Hamka said: “XL Axiata is thrilled to deepen our long-standing partnership with Juniper Networks and welcome them on board our 5G journey.
"By leveraging Juniper’s industry-leading routing solutions and SRv6 capabilities, we will be able to experience improved network reliability and scalability, as well as simplified network operations.”
