Malaysian operator U Mobile joined rival Maxis in signing a 5G cooperation agreement with China Mobile International (CMI) to explore how to advance 5G connectivity.
U Mobile said in a statement, the two companies will collaborate by exchanging practices on 5G deployment, innovation and adoption of B2B solutions. U Mobile and CMI will also explore and develop commercial 5G models, and study methods to enhance roaming infrastructure for seamless cross border 5G connectivity for travellers.

We aim to leverage on CMI’s knowledge, resources and global network, towards the common goal of expediting 5G innovation and adoption, spurring digital economies through applications of 5G for digital and enterprise solutions,” said U Mobile CEO Wong Heang Tuck.
