Etisalat Misr, Telecom Egpyt and Vodafone Egypt have reportedly all been cleared to use additional spectrum by the country’s National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).
In a statement, the regulator confirmed that the three operators would henceforth be permitted to use the 2.6GHz spectrum officially allocated to them in December 2020, after their bids were accepted the previous month.
CommsUpdate reports that the regulator has indicated that the spectrum will allow the operator to boost their capacity and augment their quality of service, adding that it expects tangible improvements from early 2022.
