Transtelco: Alejandro Guzman's 2016 Trends

Despite a shift towards cloud, high capacity circuits will retain their relevance in Mexico, according to Transtelco’s Alejandro Guzman…

Which developing or emerging markets (regions / countries) do you cover?

Mexico. I am in charge of business development and sales throughout six regions through the Mexican market.

What are your main hardware and/or services focus areas?

International private circuits, high capacity internet access and Metropolitan transit transport.

What are the top market and customer trends that will drive change in your area during 2016, and why?

We’ve just entered Mexico City’s market, where the major players are sharing top 500 enterprise customers. Every single player is moving towards cloud services but we think there is still a lot of room for high capacity circuits.

What are the solutions that will make the greatest impact in your area during 2016, and why?

Increased bandwidths and security tools such DDoS.

What changes need to be made to speed up developments and what can hold them back?

Corruption and permitting.

Which of the following will be the most important in emerging markets in 2016?

IoT; Infrastructure Sharing; Mergers & Consolidations.

Explain why your selections will be important in 2016.

Mergers and consolidations in Mexico will affect the way we all play, because worldwide players such as AT&T are investing.

Alejandro Guzman is the VP of Enterprise Sales & Business Development at Transtelco.
