Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) has reportedly entered discussions with Thai telco True Corp and AIoT integration firm T3 Technology to find ways to collaborate on AI-powered smart-home solutions for Vietnam.
According to a report in the Bangkok Post on Monday, VNPT has expressed interest in adopting True’s “TrueX” smart-home ecosystem capabilities to accelerate the roll-out of a localised smart-home ecosystem tailored to the Vietnamese market.
The TrueX ecosystem – co-developed with Tuya Smart and T3 – includes routers, AI speakers and over-the-top (OTT) platforms that integrate features such as multi-language AI voice interaction, smart entertainment, education, news and IoT-AI integration, the report said.
The report noted that demand for smart home applications – from smart locks and home cameras to AI-powered voice assistants and entertainment platforms – has surged across Vietnam in recent years as broadband connectivity becomes more widespread across the country.
According to the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority, fibre penetration for Vietnamese households stood at 85.3% at the end of June 2025, up 3.4% year on year.
The reported talks with VNPT come almost a month after True Corporation announced a partnership with China Mobile International, T3 and Tuya to enhance its TrueX platform, aiming to migrate more than 3 million Thai users from Tuya’s ecosystem.
