CST extends FTTH to north of Sao Tome and Principe

Sao Tome and Principe’s incumbent provider CST (Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicacoes) has announced the expansion of its fibre optic network to the north of the island nation.

The expansion will cover the city of Neves, and - as noted by TeleGeography - over the coming weeks, the city of Angolares will become the final district capital to be connected to the FTTH network.

The expansion will increase broadband speeds in the region to a maximum of 200Mbps. CST’s CEO Jorge Frazao noted that fibre optic connections account for over 80% of its fixed internet customers.
