Digicel Fiji delivering rural connectivity with satellite broadband

Digicel Fiji has launched a satellite broadband service branded as Digisat that aims to deliver affordable universal data connectivity to remote communities across Fiji.

Local outlet Fiji Village quoted CEO Farid Mohammed as saying that Digicel was investing more into its LTE network to ensure its customers had access to high-speed broadband going forward.

Mohammed noted that this access was crucial for enabling work and education, particularly during the pandemic. He added that Digicel’s remote community Wi-Fi project would extend connectivity to previously unconnected rural homes and businesses.
