Yeniseytelecom CJCS (ETK)'s subscriber base tops two million

The customer base of ETK, the telco serving Krasnoyarsk Krai and the Republic of Khkassia, has exceeded 2 million subscribers. ETK is fully owned by Siberia's largest telco, Sibirtelecom, and with 40% of the local market is the leading company in Krasnoyarsk Krai, far outpacing its federal competitors. Today, it runs GSM-900/1800 and IMT-MC 450 networks.

Founded in 1997 in Krasnoyarsk with only 17 base stations within the NMT-450i network, ETK was the first company in the region to build a GSM-900 network, and has launched automatic national roaming, as well as introducing scratch cards with an unlimited validity period. The company is also the creator of the northernmost network in Norilsk.

At the end of 1997, ETK served just over 2,000 customers. In 1999 it installed a billing solution from CBOSS licensed to support 10,000 users. Today, ETK is running a wide range of CBOSS products automating convergent billing, dealer and partner management, messaging, network monitoring and management, data analysis and reporting. The solution is deployed on the convergent billing system CBOSSbcc that currently supports more than two million of ETK's subscribers, simultaneously in two telecommunications standards.

* Since March 1, 2006 Yeniseytelecom has been operating under the ETK brand. Yeniseytelecom CJSC (ETK) is the largest mobile network operator in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Taymyr Autonomous Okrug, and the Republic of Khkassia. It provides GSM 900/1800 services. In Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yeniseytelecom provides IMT-MC 450 (CDMA2000 1x) services under the Wellcom brand. Yeniseytelecom owns 99.72% of Altaisvyaz JSC (a cellular company in Altai Krai and Altai Republic with 43,000 subscribers) and 99% of STeK GSM (a cellular company in Kemerovo Oblast serving over 91,000 subscribers).

The total subscriber base of the company is more than 2 million subscribers. According to the research and analysis firm Sotovik, Yeniseytelecom is one of Russia's top ten largest telcos. Yeniseytelecom is fully-owned by Sibirtelecom JSC, the largest Siberian telco.
