Zain’s One Network expands to Egypt

Zain’s One Network has gained its 2nd member, Egypt. In the Arab World alone, 27 million customers in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Sudan can now enjoy a single telecoms market...

MENA telecom provider Zain has expanded its One Network platform to Egypt in a strategic partnership with Mobinil. Over 27 million Zain customers in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait (data roaming benefits), Saudi Arabia and Sudan can now benefit from One Network services when visiting Egypt for business or pleasure. There is also a reciprocal benefit for Mobinil’s 24 million customers when visiting any of these Zain countries.

The One Network borderless mobile platform enables pre- and post-paid Zain customers when traveling to another One Network partner to be treated as local customers in terms of pricing, while retaining home country service functionalities. Now, even in Egypt, Zain customers  will be able to make calls, send SMS and access  Internet (data) at the local rates of the visited country and to receive incoming calls from their home country at free-of or minimal charge.

There is no need for customers to pre-register, no extra fee, or roaming deposit, and no complicated dialing format. As in any other One Network country, while in Egypt Zain customers can recharge their pre-paid lines with Mobinil purchased top-up cards.

Since its introduction in September 2006, One Network has been recognised by the international community for significant innovation and raising industry standards, attaining many awards. Most recently, at the Middle East World Telecom Awards, One Network was named Telecommunication Innovation of the Year.
