A new solution aimed at providing affordable dedicated connectivity to customers in infrastructure-poor regions has been launched by Talia, an internet and voice service provider.
Using a simple, remotely administrated DVB-S2/SCPC connection, the new solution – named Talia Trunk - provides affordable dedicated service from 128 Kb to transponder-sized connections.
With the aim of targeting regions with underdeveloped infrastructure, the solution is available throughout Africa and the Middle East, as well as Europe and several countries in Central and South Asia, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.
Travis Mooney, Chief Operating Officer of Talia, said: 'By implementing a complete dedicated platform, we hope to be able to offer a high level of service while also bringing the cost of trunking connections down to a level that many customers will find affordable.'
Talia Trunk is available on SES Worldskies NSS-12 Ku band for services throughout Central/South Asia (SA beam), East Africa (EA beam), and Europe and the Middle East (ME beam). It is also available on Telstar 11N Ku band for Central, Southern, and West Africa. On C band, Arabsat 5A provides services throughout Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East.
